Our journey begins with an ascent to the fiery heart of the island—Mount Etna. As we make our way to Rifugio Sapienza, located 1,900 meters above sea level, our expert guide will share fascinating insights about this awe-inspiring volcano, the highest active one in all of Europe. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by an extraordinary panoramic view, an experience that is truly mesmerizing.
You can choose to stay at 1,900 meters and soak in the breathtaking scenery or take an exciting ride up to 2,900 meters aboard the cableways and Moon Bus. Here, you will meet an Alpine guide or a volcanologist who will lead you on an immersive guided walk around a crater near the summit, bringing you closer than ever to the raw power of Etna.
After this thrilling volcanic experience, we will descend towards the stunning Alcantara Gorges, where the river has sculpted a spectacular canyon into the solidified lava rock over thousands of years. This natural wonder offers a fascinating contrast to Etna’s fiery landscapes, with its cool waters and breathtaking rock formations providing a refreshing and picturesque stop.

The walk takes place on off-road paths: it is advisable to wear comfortable, appropriate footwear, warm clothing and a wind jacket (even during the summer months).
